Backlit Bride

Backlighting is one of my favorite photography techniques. Sometimes the backlight is so bright that you completely lose whatever you were trying to capture in front of it, but sometimes you get something so magical with that sunlight-pouring-through-us kind of feel. This shot is a perfect example of that. There was a good balance of exterior light and interior light, which allowed me to still capture the bride's expression. Rachel had just put on her veil and was about to leave for her ceremony.
This shot was taken with my Rolleiflex, 800 speed color film.

Conga!

The conga line is still so fun! Shot with one of my Nikon 35 mm cameras, with 3200 speed film.

Washington Square Park in the Springtime!

Boy, is Washington Square Park ever packed in the Springtime! I've shot in this park many times, and I love shooting there because there are SO many terrific background options. The architecture of the park is beautiful on its own, but there are also so many great surfaces and textures throughout the park.
Here is the engagement portrait of Chris, Audra, and VIP poodle, Archie!

Kaelen & Simon's Wedding on Style Me Pretty

Kaelen and Simon's beautiful wedding at Alder Manor is featured on Style Me Pretty today! Alder Manor is an incredible old mansion in Yonkers, New York. It has kind of a rock star glam vibe, which totally fit the bride and groom.
Kaelen is a fashion designer and has her own line called Kaelen. She of course designed her own dress and she actually dyed the train pink with rose petals! So cool....
